I'm building a cartoony sort of forest area with very saturated and lively colors.
There's a mock up scene below. The terrain grass will be darkened and maybe desaturated a bit, so its hue equalizes with he rest of the environment peacefully.
I've come to the point where I'll be making models for buildings soon. I've tested a few cobble stone textures on a mule cube, but they just stick out like a sore thumb, and give the general impression that they do not belong in the environment.
Does anyone have experience designing this type of level, and if so, what type/color of building textures did you use to make it feel natural?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
