The San Francisco 49ers are 7-0 for the first time since 1990.If you count sack yardage , the 49ers defense has given up 436 net passing yards...over the last five games.NextGenStats has a “sacks created” stat. Nick Bosa has created nine sacks this season. That’s fifth in the NFL. Even when he’s not bringing down the quarterback, he’s helping one of his teammates. This is the first time since 1998 that the 49ers have started the season with three consecutive home wins. The defense has held its opponents under 100 net passing yards for four consecutive games. That hasn’t happened since 1977.The Niners defense recorded seven sacks against Carolina. That’s the most since the Raiders game last November, where San Francisco registered eight sacks.Tevin Coleman is the first player in 49ers history to rush for three touchdowns and catch another.Nick Bosa became the second-youngest player since sacks became a stat in 1982 to notch three or more sacks in a game. Only three 49ers have had three sacks in the first half of a game since 1991. Bosa, Aldon Smith, and Bryant Young.Five rushing TDs by the offense were the most in a single-game since 1992. San Francisco has rushed for 1 ,268 yards in the first seven games of the season. That’s sixth-most in franchise history and the most since 1988.TE George Kittle has been targeted by QB Jimmy Garoppolo on third down 15 times this year. They’ve connected every time. Kittle has 15 receptions for 143 yards on third down this year with 11 of those going for first downs.Onto some links:7 takeaways from 49ers blowout win over Panthers (Madson)49ers 51, Panthers 13: Grades (Ice Cream Cohn)Panthers at 49ers score: 49ers stay undefeated by dominating Kyle Allen, Panthers (CBS Sports)49ers a band on the run, piling up hit after hit in platinum season (Chronicle)San Francisco 49ers have Cemented Themselves as Super Bowl Contenders (SI)Panthers expected 49ers’ misdirection, but still baffled and bamboozled in blowout (Charlotte Observer)49ers notebook: Kittle celebrates Tight End Day with Favre , Sanders scores in debut (Biderman)San Francisco 49ers 7-0 for second time in franchise history (ESPN)George Kittle and Brett Favre have fun after 49ers win (SF Examiner) These are the moments that make sports special" San Francisco 49ers News49ers vs. Broncos game week: Everything you need to knowRaheem Mostert honors his agent’s dad with ‘T’ touchdown celebrationNew,16commentsThese are the moments that make sports specialPDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Raheem Mostert honors his agent’s dad with ‘T’ touchdown celebrationTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Justin Edmonds/Getty ImagesA few players made a name for themselves on Monday Night Football. One of them being San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert. Talking to Rob Lowder a couple of weeks ago in practice about him, and Rob mentioned on Mostert could start for a handful of teams in the NFL. I didn’t have a great feel for Mostert’s abilities, but if his performance last night is how he usually looks, then Rob is 100% correct.Mostert finished with six carries for 58 yards and a 30-yard touchdown. We know he’s fast because he’s playing running back for Kyle Shanahan. He runs hard. He finishes every run. On a couple of his runs , Mostert displayed the type of vision that players in this league that get 20 carries a game don’t have. He played really well against Denver. His touchdown celebration was more meaningful than I could ever put into words. Mostert’s agent, Brett Tessler, said that the running back told him before the game that if he scored a touchdown, Mostert would raise a ‘T’ in honor of Tessler’s dad, who recently passed. This is what it’s all about. These are the moments that make sports unique and unlike anything else. In front of thousands of people , with even more watching on a primetime game, Mostert could have easily made the moment about himself. I mean, he did all of the work to get there. Instead, Mostert used his platform to honor somebody else. An amazing moment for Brett that he will never forget. Our condolences go out to Brett. What a heartfelt gesture by Raheem.
